First Adventure of 2018: Patagonia

I had decided sometime mid-2017 that I should plan an adventure for January. Something big, and in the right direction for summer. Patagonia had always intrigued me, and January would be summer there, which is pretty much the only time one can visit someplace at the bottom of the world. I had traveled with Active Adventures in NZ in 2016, and they had a great itinerary, so I would be traveling with a group during the 13 days in Chile and Argentina.

And lucky for me, my daughter Liz was available and interested, so I had a partner and a roommate. The itinerary would call for me to challenge myself both physically and logistically: the only way to see the truly amazing mountains and glaciers is to backpack for several of the days, and sleep in hostels. I haven’t done much (or any) of either of those things, but in my effort to live outside my comfort zone in my 60’s, I was willing to give it all a try.

So, I set off once again to see what the world had to offer.

Another adventure.
